First seen May 15, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026
Summary
This study tests a type of talk therapy called Metacognitive Interpersonal Therapy for Eating Disorders (MIT-ED) in 64 adults with various eating disorders, including those who are underweight. The therapy focuses on helping people understand and change unhelpful thinking patterns and relationship habits that keep eating disorder symptoms going. Participants will attend up to 40 therapy sessions over about 10 months, and researchers will track changes in eating behaviors, emotions, and self-esteem to see if the therapy works and is practical.
