Scientists hunt for chemical fingerprints to catch head and neck cancers sooner

NCT ID NCT07377084

First seen Feb 01, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 15 times

Summary

This study aims to find unique chemical patterns (metabolomic signatures) in the blood, urine, and tumor tissue of people with upper aerodigestive tract cancers, such as mouth and throat cancers. Researchers will analyze samples from 250 patients at diagnosis and after treatment to see if these patterns can help detect cancer earlier, predict outcomes, and spot recurrences. No extra tests or risks are involved, as the study uses samples already collected during standard care.
