Anesthesia showdown: which gas is kinder to your metabolism?
NCT ID NCT07399223
First seen Feb 12, 2026 · Last updated May 07, 2026 · Updated 16 times
Summary
This study looks at how two different anesthesia gases, sevoflurane and desflurane, change the body's metabolism during gallbladder removal surgery. Researchers will compare the metabolic profiles of 80 adults to see if one gas affects amino acid pathways differently than the other. The goal is to better understand how these anesthetics work, not to treat or cure a disease.
