Gene therapy virus shows promise against tough lung cancer

Summary
This study tested a new treatment for malignant pleural mesothelioma, a rare and serious cancer of the lung lining. It included 53 adults who had already tried at least one other treatment. The approach uses a virus to deliver interferon directly into the chest, combined with two drugs (celecoxib and gemcitabine), to see if it helps people live longer compared to the drugs alone.
