Scientists track families with rare cancer gene to unlock disease secrets
NCT ID NCT03830229
Summary
This study aims to understand how cancer develops in people who are born with specific gene mutations, like the BAP1 gene, which is linked to mesothelioma and other cancers. Researchers will follow 1,000 participants, including people with mesothelioma and their family members who carry the gene mutation, for many years. The goal is to observe their health over time through regular check-ups, scans, and tests to learn about the natural history of these cancers.
