First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 33 times

Summary

This study tests whether using a special mesh (Ovitex) during hernia repair surgery lowers the chance of the hernia coming back within two years, compared to using stitches alone. About 164 adults with large hiatal hernias will take part. The goal is to find the best way to keep the repair strong and improve quality of life.
