Mesh may keep hernias away after reflux surgery
NCT ID NCT06444347
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study looks at whether using a biosynthetic mesh during robotic anti-reflux surgery can lower the chance that a hiatal hernia returns. About 200 adults with GERD who are already scheduled for surgery will be randomly assigned to receive either the standard repair or repair with the mesh. The main goal is to see if the mesh helps keep the hernia from coming back.
