First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 25 times
Summary
This study tested whether placing a special mesh during bladder removal surgery (radical cystectomy) could lower the chance of developing a parastomal hernia, a common complication. A total of 178 patients having surgery for bladder cancer took part. The goal was to compare outcomes between those who got the mesh and those who did not.
