Summary
This study tested whether a drug called mepolizumab can help people with a type of COPD (lung disease) who have high levels of certain white blood cells (eosinophils). The drug was given after a serious flare-up that required a hospital stay. The goal was to see if it could prevent future hospital visits or death. The study included 238 adults aged 40 and older who were already using inhaled steroids.
