Ice chip relief? study tests simple fix for common surgery discomforts
NCT ID NCT06939842
Summary
This study tested whether applying menthol ice or frozen saline could help ease two common discomforts after back surgery: thirst and a sore throat. It involved 102 adults who had surgery under general anesthesia. Researchers measured patients' thirst and throat pain to see if these simple, cold applications provided relief in the recovery period.
