NCT ID NCT07482046

First seen Mar 22, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 6 times

Summary

This study tested whether a menthol gel applied to the skin can help recreational runners feel cooler and perform better when exercising in hot weather. Thirty-seven healthy adults aged 18 to 45 ran twice, once with the menthol gel and once with a placebo gel, while researchers measured their body temperature, heart rate, and how hot they felt. The goal was to see if the menthol gel improves comfort and performance during exercise in the heat.
