Mind over knee: mental rehab boosts surgery recovery?

NCT ID NCT07327190

First seen Jan 10, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This study looks at whether adding mental exercises—like imagining movements or watching exercise videos—to standard physical therapy can help people recover better after knee replacement surgery. About 36 adults who had a knee replaced will be split into three groups: standard therapy alone, therapy plus guided imagery, or therapy plus watching exercise videos. The goal is to see if these mind-based techniques can reduce pain, improve balance and function, and lessen fear of moving.
