Mind over movement: mental rehearsal trial aims to steady Parkinson's patients

NCT ID NCT07495462

Summary

This study is testing if adding 'motor imagery'—mentally practicing movements—to standard physical therapy can help people with Parkinson's disease. Researchers want to see if this combination improves balance and reduces the fear of movement that can lead to falls. Participants will be randomly assigned to receive either standard therapy alone or standard therapy plus guided mental practice sessions over six weeks.
