Mind over movement: new study tests mental rehearsal for stroke recovery
NCT ID NCT07507552
First seen Apr 05, 2026 · Last updated May 10, 2026 · Updated 4 times
Summary
This study looks at whether a single session of a mental practice technique (watching and imagining a reaching motion) can immediately improve arm movement smoothness in stroke survivors. About 28 adults aged 40-80 who have had a stroke and have some arm movement will participate. They will either do the mental practice or a relaxation task, and their arm motion will be measured with a smartphone-based system.
