First seen May 13, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study looked at whether the phase of the menstrual cycle affects muscle damage and oxygen use after intense exercise. Twelve healthy women with regular cycles did eccentric leg exercises during two different cycle phases. Researchers measured muscle strength, soreness, and oxygen consumption before and after exercise to see if hormones like estrogen play a protective role.
