This study looked at whether the phase of a woman's menstrual cycle affects how her muscles recover after intense exercise. Fifteen healthy women did downhill running tests during both the follicular and luteal phases. Researchers measured muscle soreness, strength, and blood markers to see if recovery differed between the two phases.
