Study investigates whether menstrual cups can dislodge IUDs

NCT ID NCT05254041

First seen Feb 13, 2026 · Last updated May 05, 2026 · Updated 11 times

Summary

This study looks at whether removing a menstrual cup the right way (by breaking the seal) can cause an IUD to shift or come out. Researchers will measure how often the IUD moves more than 1 cm after cup removal. The goal is to help doctors give better advice to people who use both an IUD and a menstrual cup.
