Can a Midwife-Led class improve sex and online health skills after menopause?
NCT ID NCT07839416
First seen Sep 24, 2026 · Last updated Sep 25, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
Researchers are testing whether a midwife-led education program improves sexual function and digital health literacy in postmenopausal women aged 45 to 60. The program combines one in-person session with two online sessions over three weeks, covering sexual health during menopause, pelvic floor exercises, partner communication, and skills for finding reliable online health information. Half of the 128 participants receive the education, while the other half continue with usual care. Both groups complete questionnaires before and after the program so researchers can compare changes in sexual function and digital health literacy.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- A midwife-led hybrid health literacy education program delivered through one in-person session and two online sessions
- What this could lead to
- If it works, this could give clinics a low-cost, midwife-led way to help postmenopausal women manage sexual concerns and find trustworthy health information online.
- What could go wrong
- This is a small, single-center study of 128 women in Türkiye, so results may not apply elsewhere. Self-reported questionnaires can be influenced by expectations, and the program may not change long-term habits.
