Summary
This study tested the safety and immune response of a new investigational vaccine designed to protect against five major groups (A, B, C, W, Y) of meningococcal bacteria, which can cause meningitis and bloodstream infections. It involved 1,215 healthy adolescents (10-17 years) and young adults (18-25 years). Researchers monitored participants for side effects and measured their antibody levels for up to 12 months to see if the vaccine triggered a strong protective immune response.
