Summary
This study is testing if a single dose of the antibiotic azithromycin can clear the bacteria that causes meningitis from people who carry it without being sick. Researchers are enrolling 1120 university students who test positive for carrying the bacteria. The goal is to prevent these carriers from spreading the infection to others, which could lead to serious disease.
