Scientists hunt for clues to improve leukemia treatment after transplant

NCT ID NCT07627568

First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study looks at blood cells from 20 adults with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) whose cancer returned after a stem cell transplant. All participants have specific genetic changes (NPM1 mutations or KMT2A rearrangements) and are being treated with a menin inhibitor. Researchers will measure certain biomarkers to see if they relate to how well the leukemia responds or how long patients survive. The goal is to learn more, not to test a new treatment directly.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

menin inhibitor

What this could lead to

If successful, this could help identify which patients might respond to menin inhibitors after a stem cell transplant, potentially guiding future treatment decisions.

What could go wrong

This is a very small, early biomarker study with only 20 participants. It is not designed to test whether the treatment works, only to look for biological signals.
