Brain damage Doesn't stop learning: scientists map memory workarounds

NCT ID NCT07191197

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 15, 2026 · Updated 31 times

Summary

This study looks at how people with severe memory problems due to brain damage in the temporal lobe can still learn new information. Researchers will use memory tests and MRI scans to find which parts of the brain help with this learning. The goal is to understand the brain's ability to adapt, not to provide a treatment. About 150 adults in France with specific brain lesions will participate.
