Summary

This study tested whether treating fruits with melatonin helps the body absorb more healthy plant compounds. Twenty-two healthy adults drank juice from melatonin-treated or untreated fruits and provided urine samples. The goal was to measure how much of the compounds and melatonin were absorbed. Results will show if this simple treatment can improve the nutritional value of fruit.
