Brain wave study tests if melatonin helps autistic teens sleep better
NCT ID NCT05716906
Summary
This study is investigating whether melatonin, a common sleep aid, affects specific brain waves called sleep spindles in teenagers with autism. Researchers are observing 30 participants to see if changes in these brain waves relate to sleep quality and sensory sensitivities. The goal is to better understand the brain mechanisms behind sleep problems in autism, not to test melatonin as a treatment.
