Can a spray make your fruit healthier? scientists test Melatonin-Treated produce
NCT ID NCT07192835
Summary
This study investigated whether spraying fruits with melatonin before harvest makes their healthy compounds easier for the body to absorb. Researchers gave 22 healthy adults juice made from melatonin-treated and untreated lemons, oranges, and cherries. They measured compounds in participants' urine to see if the melatonin treatment improved nutrient uptake from the fruit.
