Sleep hormone trial offers hope for new moms with heart failure
NCT ID NCT07334197
Summary
This study is testing whether adding melatonin, a natural hormone, to standard heart failure treatment helps women recover from peripartum cardiomyopathy—a rare but serious heart condition that can occur around childbirth. Researchers will measure if melatonin improves heart function, reduces inflammation, and helps women walk farther. The trial involves 25 women who will receive either standard treatment alone or standard treatment plus melatonin for three months.
