First seen Jan 02, 2026 · Last updated May 08, 2026 · Updated 23 times
Summary
This study tests whether adding a special laser (1064nm 650 microsecond) to a standard depigmenting cream can better treat melasma and prevent it from returning. Thirty adults with moderate to severe melasma will apply a depigmenting cream to their whole face and receive laser on only one side of their face every other week for 12 weeks. The goal is to see if the laser side has less pigmentation and fewer relapses.
