Targeted surgery could spare melanoma patients harsh side effects
NCT ID NCT05839912
Summary
This study is testing whether removing only the single cancerous lymph node, instead of many nearby nodes, is effective at preventing melanoma from returning in that area. Researchers want to see if this more targeted surgery causes fewer side effects, like painful swelling (lymphedema), and improves quality of life. The trial is for adults with stage III melanoma that has spread to only one detectable lymph node.
