Could childhood constipation lead to adult bowel problems?
NCT ID NCT07599527
First seen May 22, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026
Summary
This study looks at adults with a rare condition called idiopathic megarectum, where the rectum is abnormally large and causes severe constipation. Researchers want to find out if these patients had more constipation or digestive issues as children compared to constipated adults without megarectum. By comparing 120 participants, they hope to uncover whether the condition starts early in life.
