First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 19 times
Summary
This study used special MRI scans to learn more about medullary sponge kidney, a rare condition that causes cysts in the kidney tubes and can lead to kidney stones. Researchers compared 33 adults with the disease to healthy controls to see if MRI could detect early changes in kidney function. The goal was to better understand the disease and possibly improve future diagnosis.
