Diet swap study tests if mediterranean meals beat hospital food for metabolic health

NCT ID NCT07164014

Summary

This study tested whether switching to a Mediterranean diet could help hospitalized patients with psychiatric conditions and metabolic syndrome. For 8 weeks, 30 participants tried either the Mediterranean diet or the standard hospital diet to see which was better for managing weight, blood pressure, cholesterol, and inflammation. Researchers measured changes in body composition, blood markers, and other health indicators to compare the two eating plans.
