Mind over stone: meditation trial aims to ease surgery recovery
NCT ID NCT06783946
Summary
This pilot study is testing whether a daily meditation practice can help patients feel less pain and anxiety before and after surgery to remove kidney stones. Researchers will randomly assign 50 patients (ages 12 and up) to either learn meditation or receive usual care. The goal is to see if this mind-body approach is a feasible and helpful part of recovery.
