Can simple breathing exercises heal the trauma of an ICU stay?
NCT ID NCT06867367
Summary
This study is testing whether simple guided meditation and breathing exercises can help reduce stress and improve mental well-being for elderly patients recovering from a long stay in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and for their family caregivers. Participants will learn and practice these techniques, often using a mobile app, while researchers measure their stress levels and brain activity to see if the practices help. The main goal is to see if this approach is practical and acceptable, paving the way for future, larger studies.
