New drug combo shows promise in meth addiction battle

Summary

This study tests whether a combination of two medications (extended-release naltrexone and bupropion) can help people with moderate to severe methamphetamine use disorder reduce their drug use. The study will enroll 360 adults who want to stop or cut down on meth. Participants will receive either the active medication or a placebo, and researchers will measure how many urine tests come back negative for methamphetamine during the final two weeks of treatment.
