Summary

This study is testing whether using educational TV shows and videos can be an easier and more effective way for parents to help their young children develop early reading skills, compared to traditional storybook reading. Researchers are working with 450 low-income families with children aged 3.5 to 4.5 years old. They want to see if media-based activities help parents stick with the program better and ultimately improve children's letter knowledge, word recognition, and other literacy skills.
