Could a Nerve-Protecting vitamin pill boost vision recovery in blocked retina veins?

NCT ID NCT07133438

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether adding a nerve-protecting drug (mecobalamin) to standard anti-VEGF eye injections can improve vision and reduce the number of injections needed for people with retinal vein occlusion (RVO). About 120 adults with RVO will receive either mecobalamin or a placebo pill for 6 months, alongside their regular injections. The main goal is to see if the combination reduces retinal swelling and improves eyesight over one year.
