New ventilation strategy aims to protect lungs during robotic prostate surgery

NCT ID NCT07534553

First seen Apr 21, 2026 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This study looks at whether a specific way of using the breathing machine during robot-assisted prostate surgery can help patients breathe better after the operation. The special position and gas used during surgery can strain the lungs. The trial will compare the new method to standard care in 80 adults to see if it improves oxygen levels and reduces lung problems.
