Scientists use magnets and ink to spy on tumor oxygen

NCT ID NCT03716193

Summary

This study tested a new method to measure oxygen levels in skin tumors. Researchers used a special technique with magnets and a tiny ink tattoo to see how tumor oxygen changed when patients breathed pure oxygen and during their standard cancer treatments. The goal was to see if this measurement method could be useful for doctors in the future.
