Scientists test simple gauge for breathing strain
NCT ID NCT05576246
Summary
This study tested a new, simpler method for measuring how hard a person is working to breathe while using a non-invasive ventilator. Researchers compared this new method against the current, more complex 'gold standard' measurement in 12 healthy volunteers. The goal is to find an easier way to monitor breathing effort at the bedside, which could help prevent lung injury in critically ill patients in the future.
