Can ending food scarcity help break the cycle of weight gain?
NCT ID NCT06800794
Summary
This study is exploring why women who struggle to afford enough food paradoxically have a higher risk of obesity. Researchers are testing if providing a stable, personalized, healthy meal plan to 12 low-income women can improve their body's metabolism and reduce their drive to eat unhealthy foods. The goal is to see if addressing food insecurity directly can help with weight management and health in people with obesity and prediabetes.
