New cholesterol drug tested in dialysis patients

Summary
This study tested a new drug called MCI-196 against a common statin (simvastatin) and a placebo to see how well it lowers LDL cholesterol in people with advanced chronic kidney disease on dialysis. About 260 adults on stable dialysis took part. The goal was to manage cholesterol levels, not to cure kidney disease.
