Brain aneurysm showdown: which treatment wins?
NCT ID NCT05161377
First seen Mar 20, 2026 · Last updated May 09, 2026 · Updated 8 times
Summary
This study compares two ways to treat aneurysms in the middle cerebral artery (MCA) of the brain: open surgery (clipping) and less invasive endovascular methods (like coiling or stents). About 400 adults with a ruptured or unruptured MCA aneurysm will be randomly assigned to one of the two treatments. The goal is to see which approach better prevents bleeding, avoids repeat treatment, and helps patients stay independent one year later.
