Scientists seek clues to rare mast cell disease

NCT ID NCT00044122

First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 10, 2026 · Updated 26 times

Summary

This study looks at why mast cells grow too much in people with mastocytosis, a condition that can cause itching, bone pain, and stomach pain. Researchers will collect blood and bone marrow samples from up to 600 participants during a single 8-hour visit. The goal is to learn more about how these cells grow and survive, not to test a new treatment.
