Can a gentle touch ease chronic pain? researchers investigate
NCT ID NCT04206397
Summary
This study aimed to understand how different types of touch, like gentle brushing or tapping, affect pain perception in people with fibromyalgia. Researchers compared 80 people, some with fibromyalgia and some without chronic pain, measuring their responses to touch and pain tests. The goal was to learn why massage therapies might help some people and to identify psychological factors that influence how touch is felt.
