Massage and exercise combo shows promise for stroke recovery

NCT ID NCT06922149

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This small study tested whether adding functional massage to eccentric exercises (like slow squatting) helps reduce muscle stiffness and improve leg movement in people who had a stroke at least 6 months ago. Eight adults participated, and the treatment was done at a university clinic. The goal was to see if the combination works better than exercise alone for easing spasticity and boosting quality of life.
