New drug tested to halt liver damage in advanced fatty liver disease

Summary
This study is testing a new medicine, BI 3802876, for adults with advanced liver scarring (cirrhosis) caused by a type of fatty liver disease called MASH. The main goal is to see how safe the medicine is and how the body handles it. About 30 participants will be randomly assigned to receive either the study medicine or a placebo (an inactive substance) through an IV infusion for about six months.
