New hope for Moms-to-Be suffering from debilitating pregnancy itch

NCT ID NCT07389031

Summary

This study is testing whether a medication called maralixibat is safe and tolerable for pregnant women diagnosed with intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy (ICP), a liver condition that causes severe itching and elevated bile acids. The trial will involve about 28 participants to monitor for side effects while also checking if the drug helps reduce itching and lower bile acid levels. The main goal is to gather initial safety data to see if the treatment is well-tolerated during pregnancy.
