Tiny trial tests genetic clues for thyroid surgery decisions
NCT ID NCT06235814
First seen Feb 05, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 14 times
Summary
This pilot study explored whether routine genetic testing of thyroid cancer tumors can help doctors decide how much of the thyroid to remove. Only 2 people took part, and the main goal was to see if a larger study is possible. The approach aims to match surgery extent to cancer risk, potentially avoiding unnecessary total thyroid removal.
