Hands-On therapy tested to help brain injury patients think clearer
NCT ID NCT05129514
Summary
This study tested whether a gentle, hands-on massage technique called manual lymphatic drainage could help people recovering from moderate to severe traumatic brain injuries. Researchers wanted to see if this therapy, given daily for five days, could improve how fluid drains from the brain and whether that led to better memory, thinking speed, and overall cognitive function. The study used special imaging to measure fluid flow and standard tests to measure thinking skills.
