Malaria shot may shield kids from second deadly disease
NCT ID NCT07416461
Summary
This study aims to find out if a new malaria vaccine given to young children can also reduce their risk of getting a severe bacterial infection called invasive non-typhoidal Salmonella (iNTS). Researchers will observe 10,000 children under age 5 in the Democratic Republic of Congo who come to clinics with fever. They will compare the infection rates in children who received the malaria vaccine to those who did not.
